A federal judge in Chicago is expected to announce a ruling on whether to release a 34-year-old Illinois woman charged with aiding militant groups in Syria and Iraq.

Mediha Medy Salkicevic (SAHL'-kay-vich) and five other Bosnian immigrants are charged with sending money and equipment to Islamic State group and other designated terrorist organizations.

The judge says he'll rule during a hearing Tuesday whether the woman can travel on her own to St. Louis, where the case is being handled. Otherwise, she'll stay in federal custody and have marshals deliver her to St. Louis.

A prosecutor told the judge at a hearing Monday that Salkicevic poses a danger to the community and is a flight risk. A defense attorney countered that there's no evidence the mother of four is dangerous.
