RIVERSIDE, Calif. – An educator who was confronted with allegations of abuse in a phone call by a former student who then posted the conversation on YouTube has pleaded guilty to sexual assault charges involving two victims.
The Riverside Press-Enterprise reports (http://bit.ly/1CzrY9F) that Andrea Cardosa entered pleas Friday to three counts of lewd acts with a child under 14.
Cardosa, a former assistant principal, is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 9.
Prosecutors said Cardosa abused one former student, who is now in her twenties, from 1997 to 2001, starting when the child was 12 and attending middle school in Riverside. That victim called Cardosa last year and recorded a conversation in which the educator admitted abuse.
Another former student came forward after the video went viral, and Cardosa was also charged with abusing her.
