A woman has been released from jail after her arrest on suspicion of killing her boyfriend and 3-year-old son, who was found in a freezer on a Southern California Indian reservation.

U-T San Diego reports that 32-year-old Elaina Rose Welch was released Thursday night after her arraignment scheduled for earlier in the day was canceled. San Diego County prosecutors did not give reasons for the cancellation and release, saying only that the case is still being investigated and remains under review.

Welch's boyfriend, 32-year-old Julio Monggiotti, was found shot in the chest and wrist Friday at the couple's home on the Barona Indian Reservation.

Authorities then found her 3-year-old son in a freezer in the garage hidden under packages of frozen food.
