The NYPD says a construction worker posing as a police officer pulled over a driver and asked for her phone number.
According to the Staten Island Advance, Dennis Scamardella allegedly had something resembling a police shield hanging from his neck, and handcuffs on his waistband.
Authorities also say he had a blinking light on the dashboard of his black Cadillac during the November incident.
He was arraigned Saturday on two counts of misdemeanor criminal impersonation. He's is due back in court on March 19. Information on his attorney was not immediately available.
Another man was arrested last Tuesday on charges of impersonating an officer. Authorities say he used the ploy to stop, frisk and rob a woman on Staten Island in September.
