Republicans take control of the U.S. Senate and the House.. the first time they'll control both houses of Congress since 2006. As required in the U.S. Constitution, they will convene at Noon. They have a big agenda including passing the Keystone XL pipeline, chipping away at Obamacare, and trying to stop the President from various executive actions.. from immigration reform, to normalizing ties with Cuba.

This as the White House hints it is planning more aggressive executive orders.

1300-1430EST -- VP Biden holds a re-enactment swearing-in ceremony for newly elected and re-elected senators.

There could also be a leadership fight today with a Tea Party challenge to House Speaker John Boehner. We'll have details..

President Obama hosts Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto at the White House today. The president expected to ask Nieto to help pressure Cuba to institute democratic reforms.

Keep a close eye on stocks today.. It was ugly on Wall Street yesterday with a steep sell off. The Dow lost more than 300 points and the S&P and Nasdaq also down substantially. Energy sector and construction stocks hit especially hard including Caterpillar, Chevron and Exxon Mobil. Oil prices fell again yesterday with oil fell to under $50 a barrel for the first time since the depths of the great recession. Today we'll get a read on factory orders.

Jury selection continues in the terror trial of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev for the Boston bombing that left 3 dead and more than 200 injured. Molly Line reporting.

Former VA Governor Bob McDonnell due in federal court for sentencing on 11 public corruption charges.. He may be able to avoid prison time.

The 30 year old son of a hedge fund manager murdered Sunday pled Not Guilty to murder.. Police say the father and son had argued over the son's ‘allowance.'

David Piper and Greg Palkot reporting on the search for the wreckage and more bodies in the crash of AirAsia Flight 8501. 37 of 162 bodies have been recovered so far. Weather has made recovery efforts slow. Authorities do believe they've found the tail sections which are likely to include the black boxes.

Gay marriage now legal in Florida. A judge threw out the state's ban on gay marriage as unconstitutional. Gay marriage legal now in 36 states.

Former New York Governor Mario Cuomo will be laid to rest today with a funeral attended by former President Clinton, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The former Gov and presidential candidate was 82.
