Two people in North Carolina are about a million dollars richer and may not know it.

A news release from the N.C. Education Lottery says a lucky player matched all five white balls in the Jan. 3 Powerball drawing. The winning ticket was purchased in Spruce Pine in Mitchell County. That ticket is worth $1 million.

Whoever won the money has 180 days from the drawing date claim the prize money at lottery headquarters in Raleigh.

The other $1 million prize was won in the Christmas Eve Powerball drawing, and it hasn't been claimed. The ticket was sold at the Harris Teeter on South Tryon Street in Charlotte.

Wednesday's Powerball jackpot annuity is up to $146 million, and would be worth $95.1 million if claimed as a lump sum.
