A man has been accused of making a bogus carjacking report while police were searching for someone believed to have killed six people in suburban Philadelphia.

Doylestown resident Luke Sanderlin was charged Friday with risking a catastrophe, reckless endangerment and making false reports to law enforcement during this week's hunt for Bradley Stone.

District Attorney David Heckler says Sanderlin knew about the search for Stone when he reported being attacked by someone dressed in camouflage who looked like Stone and had a knife.

Police told residents to shelter in place while they searched with dogs and helicopters Monday.

The Intelligencer says Sanderlin was arraigned and jailed when he couldn't make bail. A preliminary hearing is set for next month.

Online court records didn't list a defense lawyer for Sanderlin.

Stone was found dead Tuesday.
