Just one day until the Midterms! 435 House seats, 36 governor's seats, and control of the U.S. Senate up for grabs. Turnout expected to be around 40%. An unpopular President isn't helping Democrats who are facing generally tough elections. There's new NBC News/WSJ polling suggesting the electorate favors the Republicans by slim margins. It's likely to be close. The new polling shows tight margins in several battleground states including Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, New Hampshire and North Carolina. The GOP candidate has a slight edge in almost all cases.

The terminally ill patient who moved to Oregon to "die with dignity", Brittany Maynard, ended her life over the weekend with a lethal drug cocktail. She set off a national debate about physician-assisted suicide.
