Authorities have charged a western Pennsylvania couple in connection with the deaths of their toddler daughters, who were killed when a dresser tipped over onto them.

Online court records don't list attorneys for 28-year-olds David and Jennifer Beatty.

The dresser fell on the Aliquippa couple's toddlers on July 4. Two year old Brooklyn Beatty died that day, while her 3-year-old sister, Ryeley, died two days later in a Pittsburgh hospital.

David Beatty is charged with two counts each of involuntary manslaughter and endangering the welfare of children. His wife is charged only with the endangering counts.

Beaver County and Aliquippa police did not immediately explain why the charges were filed. They planned a news conference Thursday morning at the Aliquippa police station, about 20 miles northwest of Pittsburgh.
