California prosecutors have filed criminal charges against a woman and two of her attorneys for allegedly falsely claiming she was sexually assaulted by a Saudi sheik's son to extort at least $15 million.

The Los Angeles County district attorney's office said Monday that Leyla Ors, Joseph Gerard Cavallo and Emanuel Karl Hudson face charges including attempted extortion, conspiracy and obstruction of justice. The three were arrested last week.

Authorities say Ors told police in March that she was raped by 23-year-old Thamer Albalwi, the son of Sheik Monsur Albalwi, one of the wealthiest men in Saudi Arabia.

In June, Hudson allegedly spoke by phone with the sheik and told him that for $15 million Ors would not testify against the son.

The case against Thamer Albalwi was dismissed Friday.
