Iraq continues to deteriorate. We have new reports of massacres by the terrorists slowly taking over the country. The Al-Qaeda linked Sunni terrorists have taken over several cities. The latest town to be taken over is Tal Afar.. which is mixed Sunni and Shi'ite, and there are fears massacres could be carried out there now too.
Meantime, ISIS took to Twitter to say it had executed 1,700 Iraqi Army soldiers and prisoners. These are war crimes we are talking about, and it could become ethnic/religious cleansing.
Now comes word the U.S. may be talking with Iran directly about the future of Iraq. The Wall Street Journal says the Obama Administration is preparing a "direct dialogue" with Iran on the security situation in Iraq.
Both Iran and the United States have said they are willing to give military aid to the embattled leader of Iraq.. and the Shi'ite government. Some Americans are being moved out of the embassy in Baghdad.. and other foreigners are being advised to flee the country. Despite President Obama's assurances he wouldn't be sending troops in, 100 Marines and Army soldiers have been sent to Baghdad to boost security.
