BOSTON – A judge has denied a request from Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev (joh-HAHR' tsahr-NEYE'-ehv) for more time to request that his trial be moved.
His attorneys said this week they planned to ask to move his November trial out of Boston. They also had asked that a deadline to make the request be pushed back from June 18 to August.
Judge George O'Toole denied that motion Friday.
Prosecutors say Tsarnaev and his brother Tamerlan planted two bombs that exploded near the finish line of the 2013 marathon, killing three people and wounding about 260 others. Tamerlan died following a shootout with police days later.
Tsarnaev has pleaded not guilty to 30 federal charges. He faces the possibility of the death penalty.
