A 28-year-old single mother, who has the same name as someone wanted by authorities, has been wrongly arrested twice by a northern Florida sheriff's office.
In January, Ashley Nicole Chiasson spent 28 days in jail after being extradited to Clay County from her home state of Louisiana. She was released after officials realized they had the wrong person.
During a status hearing last month related to the grand theft case that was being dropped, Chiasson was arrested again on another charge and spent another week in jail.
The sheriff's office says Chiasson was released once the mistake was realized.
The Florida Times-Union (http://bit.ly/1u4yWM7) reports Chiasson's attorney sent the sheriff's office a letter of intent to sue Monday.
The Ashley O. Chiasson deputies thought they were arresting is older and taller. She's still being sought.
