A western Michigan postal official says a relative of a couple listed on an unopened letter from 1945 has been identified.

Muskegon Postmaster William Rowe told The Muskegon Chronicle (http://bit.ly/1oUO0Li ) on Thursday that Nancy Sensabaugh Baker is the granddaughter of "Mr. and Mrs. Sensabaugh." She lives in Winter Haven, Florida.

Officials had been seeking the couple's relatives after an unopened letter sent nearly 70 years ago from a sergeant at an Army base in New York state recently surfaced.

Rowe says Baker told him in a phone call that she lived for a short time in the house where the letter was mailed. The house now is empty.

Rowe says he plans to send the letter to Baker next week.
