A judge has kept bond at $2 million for a man accused of killing his estranged wife and wounding her mother in a shooting in Oxford.
Scott Gellatly was arraigned Thursday on charges including murder in the shooting that took place Wednesday.
The 46-year-old defendant was placed on a suicide watch. His attorney said his client will be evaluated for mental health issues.
His wife, 32-year-old Lori Gellatly, had obtained a restraining order against her husband and described him in court paperwork as violent and mentally ill. She was killed in the shooting that also left her mother, 63-year Merry Jackson, in serious condition.
The shooting occurred at about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday after Lori Gellatly called 911 to report that her husband was trying to break into her home.
