Sold-out prom causing headaches at New Jersey high school

Students and parents are complaining after a southern New Jersey school district's prom was sold-out.

Bordentown Regional High School officials are set to meet Wednesday to discuss the situation.

Interim Superintendent Joseph Miller tells the Times of Trenton the decision to hold the prom in the ballroom at Camden's Adventure Aquarium was made last year by class advisers and prom committees even though they were told the maximum capacity was 300. The combined senior and junior classes total 299 students.

Miller says students were told at the beginning of the school year that prom tickets would be first-come, first served.

Aquarium spokeswoman Corrinne Kluge tells the newspaper they're willing to accommodate up to 60 more students in the Shark Den. Miller fears as many as 100 would want tickets.
