Two associates of former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez have been indicted on murder charges in connection with the shooting of a man last summer near Hernandez's Massachusetts home.

The Bristol County district attorney's office said Friday a grand jury returned indictments against Carlos Ortiz and Ernest Wallace in connection with the killing of semi-professional football player Odin (OH'-dihn) Lloyd.

Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to murder in the June killing of Lloyd, a Boston man who was dating the sister of Hernandez's fiancee.

The district attorney's office says Ortiz and Wallace will be arraigned later.

Ortiz and Wallace are from Bristol, Conn. They were charged previously with accessory to murder after the fact and have pleaded not guilty.

Ortiz's lawyer says he hasn't seen the indictment but calls it "totally ridiculous."
