A Denver homeowner involved in a fatal shooting has told police he found a stranger taking things from his house, and that he fired when the stranger charged him.

KMGH-TV reported Friday the district attorney is reviewing the March 18 shooting. No charges have been filed.

A police affidavit for a search warrant says the homeowner told police he has a permit to carry a concealed weapon, and that the stranger tried to grab the gun from him.

Police said they found the shooting victim lying on the driveway with a backpack and a computer box nearby. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Denver medical examiner identified the victim as 52-year-old Dwayne Kelly and said he died of multiple gunshot wounds.
