Authorities have found a body in the backyard at the home of a missing northern Nevada woman whose husband committed suicide after police questioned him about her disappearance.

Washoe County Sheriff's Lt. Tom Green says they found the human remains at the home in Spanish Springs after executing a search warrant Wednesday in the investigation into the disappearance of 56-year-old Colleen Muhl.

Her husband, Gerald Muhl, originally told police his wife died in California during a visit in mid-February. He was found with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound near their home on March 3, the night after investigators told him his story wasn't adding up.

Green told the Reno Gazette-Journal (http://tinyurl.com/l2eon44 ) detectives acted on a tip that Gerald Muhl had been seen moving rocks in the home's backyard.
