Few leads in case of missing NJ mom who vanished going out for baby’s medicine

Police in New Jersey investigating the disappearance of a mother who vanished last week after she left her home for a trip to a local drug store to buy medicine for her 2-year-old say there has been no leads in the case.

Karla Villagra-Garzon, 33, was wearing a brown jacket and jeans when she left her Elizabeth, N.J., home at about 10:30 p.m. last Monday, police told  Her husband reported her missing the next morning to police and has been cooperating with the investigation, police said.

"We've been receiving phone calls as far as New York City, but I can report that there is no new evidence regarding her whereabouts," Lt. Daniel Saulnier from the Elizabeth Police Department said.

She left the home to buy medication for the child, but surveillance video at the Walgreens shows that she never arrived that night, Saulnier said.

She is described as being 5 feet tall and about 120 pounds.
