NYFW - Tracy Reese Fall 2014 - All That Glitters Isn't (Just) Gold

Tracy Reese says her inspiration for Fall can be summed up with one word - "emotion."

Reese showed her Fall 2014 collection during New York Fashion Week. The designer is known for her bright colors, prints, and of course for dressing First Lady Michelle Obama.

The fall collection was unified by sparkles.. which showed up in intricate gold dresses, off white gowns, and in black separates. There were many menswear-inspired touches including a few chunky sweaters. Reese also made bold use of prints including eye-catching black and white patterned pieces, and landscape-inspired print separates of black, white and gray.

Front row celebs included actress Condola Rashad, New York Fashion Week founder Fern Mallis, stylist June Ambrose, and CFDA CEO Steven Kolb.

When I asked the designer what she wanted to get across, Reese told me backstage, "it's about individual style and personal choices. That every person isn't the same, not feeling the same way, you don't have the same type of body or hair, but it can all be beautiful."

Well said.
