NYFW - Lela Rose Brings Gastronomy to the Runway in a Fall 2014 Collection Inspired By Molecular Cooking

The Lela Rose Fall 2014 show held at Lincoln Center was a tribute to molecular gastronomy. The designer, with her dog in tow backstage, told me the collection was inspired by a meal she called "pretty astounding. Rose said, "It's really based on one of the chefs I admire most. His name is Ferran Adrià. He basically invented molecular gastronomy. I had him for a dinner - I had five of the top chefs in the world cooking for the meal. This collection is all about where food, fashion and entertaining instesect."

She says she hopes the collection inspires people to entertain and eat out more often. She pointed the audience to the stacked pearls in the collection, and some of the feather pieces. She also said the palette was inspired by things in the kitchen.

Shoes were high, high heels by the up and coming French Canadian designer Jerome Rosseau who did a collaboration with Rose.
