Fire has destroyed an old log cabin in eastern Pennsylvania.

Hamburg Fire Chief Troy Hatt said the alarm was called in at 3:25 a.m. Thursday by a neighbor who went outside and saw flames from the two-story structure along the Schuylkill River in Tilden Township, Berks County.

No one was in the structure at the time of the fire. It classified as a commercial building but Hatt had no information about its current use.

He said the oldest part of the structure may have dated back about 200 years.

Fire officials said the weather provided extra challenges for crews. Chunks of ice made it unsafe for firefighters and the slippery conditions made it difficult for trucks to get there.

Investigators aren't yet sure what caused the fire.
