A pet shop owner accused of torching her store with 27 puppies inside was handcuffed and taken to jail after a judge in Las Vegas raised her bail by more than $250,000.
It wasn't immediately clear on Friday if defendant Gloria Eun Hye Lee could raise the additional bail money. Her lawyers weren't available after her court appearance.
Firefighters rescued the puppies early on Jan. 27 at Lee's Prince and Princess pet store.
Animal rights advocates say they're happy that Justice of the Peace Janiece Marshall declared Lee a danger to the community and a flight risk.
Lee is charged with 31 counts of arson, conspiracy, burglary and attempted animal cruelty. Her bail was increased from $40,000 to $310,000. Her attorney has said she will fight the charges.
Authorities say security video shows Lee and a man setting the fire.
