Animal rights advocates cursed a Las Vegas pet shop owner outside court where she faced multiple charges that she tried to burn her store with 27 puppies inside.
Armed marshals ordered one protester out of the courthouse Wednesday, even before a prosecutor sought in court to have Gloria Eun Hye Lee jailed pending a preliminary hearing later this month.
A judge let Lee remain free on $20,000 bail and house arrest after her lawyers surrendered her Korean passport.
Prosecutors added 27 counts of attempted animal cruelty to felony conspiracy, burglary and arson charges against Lee.
A co-defendant, Kirk Bills, was identified as a fugitive in the case.
Lee and Bills are accused of setting the Prince and Princess pet shop on fire early Jan. 27 before firefighters rescued the dogs.
