Authorities in northern New Jersey continued their search Thursday for the missing Wall Street Journal reporter who disappeared earlier this month after leaving his home to go for a walk.

Long Hill Township police officers have splintered off into small groups and went over an area around the Passaic River that had already been searched, officials told FoxNews.com. Authorities said they are taking any leads that might help locate David Bird. There is no evidence of foul play.

Bird, 55, is a liver transplant recipient who takes medication twice a day. His wife says he did not have his medication with him when he vanished and could become ill without it.

Bird works as a reporter for the Wall Street Journal, covering OPEC, a collection of oil-rich countries. He also worked for Dow Jones & Co., the newspaper's publisher, for more than 20 years.

Bird is described as white, 6 foot, 1 inch tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a distinct bright red jacket with two yellow zippers.

Anyone with information on Bird's whereabouts is being urged to call The Long Hill Township Police Department at 908-647-1800.
