Authorities say a man shot a motorist to death in a vehicle with two children in the backseat in an apparent road-rage confrontation during rush-hour several miles west of the Las Vegas Strip.

Police are sure witnesses saw it. But so far, no one has come forward with the key to identifying the shooter.

Sgt. Ray Steiber (STY'-ber) says the gunman drove away in a dark-colored compact car.

Police say the shooting happened a little before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Rainbow Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue.

Authorities say 26-year-old Cleottus Harvey died after he was shot several times in the chest.

Harvey's white four-door Buick crashed into two other vehicles.

The two children in his car were uninjured, and Steiber says no one in the other vehicles was seriously hurt.
