A man has been ordered to stand trial in the slaying of a 92-year-old woman at an Ogden retirement home in 1993.
Second District Judge Brent West on Friday ruled there was sufficient probable cause to hold Stephen Ellenwood for trial on an aggravated murder charge in the beating death of Grace Mae Odle.
A status conference was set for March 5, when prosecutors will announce whether they will seek capital punishment for him.
The 41-year-old Ellenwood, who pleaded not guilty, was arrested in May in Haines, Alaska, on a Utah warrant.
Authorities say DNA evidence matched Ellenwood to the sexual assault and beating of Odle. She died six days later at a hospital.
