Four men charged in the fatal carjacking of a young lawyer outside an upscale New Jersey mall have pleaded not guilty.

Authorities say the men were involved in a Dec. 15 carjacking at The Mall at Short Hills, where Dustin Friedland, of Hoboken, was fatally shot as he returned with his wife to their vehicle.

On Wednesday, Hanif Thompson, of Irvington, and Newark residents Karif Ford, Basim Henry and Kevin Roberts entered not-guilty pleas through their public defenders.

Each has been charged with murder, felony murder, carjacking, conspiracy, possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose.

Bail is being continued at $2 million each. The four have been in custody since their arrests.

Prosecutors have said the couple was targeted over their expensive Range Rover.
