The mother of a missing New Hampshire girl who was last seen more than a month ago leaving her high school says she believes her daughter is still alive and pleaded for her safe return.
Zenya Hernandez said during a news conference Friday that she believes her 15-year-old daughter Abigail was “watching and listening” to her speak yesterday.
“I believe you are alive and that hope speaks louder than fear,” Zenya said.
Police say Hernandez left Kennett High School at about 2:30 on Oct. 9, and took a short cut through a power line trail to get home, MyFoxBoston.com reported.
Two classmates confirmed the sighting to authorities and have spoken with police, Kieran Ramsey of Boston FBI told MyFoxBoston.com.
Hernandez continued to use her cell phone to send text messages for twenty minutes after the last reported sighting.
“I will do anything and everything in my power to help you make your dreams come true. Abby I keep having a dream where you come home and I give you the biggest hug ever. I know in my heart this dream means something and it matters,” Zenya said in the press conference.
State and local police have received hundreds of tips and the FBI is offering a $20,000 reward in the case, The Boston Globe reported.
Hernandez is described as a white girl of Hispanic ancestry who is 5-feet, 4-inches tall and weighing approximately 118 pounds. She has with brown hair, brown eyes and light olive complexion.
Authorities are urging the public to continue circulating pictures of Hernandez and to contact the FBI or Conway Police Department with any information on her whereabouts.
