New York City police say they have made an arrest in the death of a child nicknamed Baby Hope 22 years after her body was discovered inside a picnic cooler.

Police announced Saturday that the girl's 52-year-old cousin had admitted sexually assaulting and killing her — a dramatic turnaround in one of the city's more notorious cold cases.

The child's name and the circumstances of her death was a mystery for years, but this week police announced that a new tip and a DNA test had allowed them to identify the child's mother.

On Tuesday, police said they had interviewed the woman.

Now they are finally revealing the slain girl's name: Angelica Castillo.

The child's naked, malnourished body was discovered July 23, 1991, beside the Henry Hudson Parkway in Manhattan.
