Records show an Ohio woman gunned down in a murder-suicide last year confronted her killer in her final minutes over the 1972 death of her sister.

Victim Barbara Mohler is quoted in police documents obtained by The Associated Press. She tells her brother-in-law Paul Gilkey that she has proof the death of her sister long ago was not a suicide, as had been thought.

Minutes after that accusation in 2012, Gilkey killed Mohler, another sister and his son before killing himself.

Shortly after their deaths, the coroner in rural Hocking County changed the cause of the 1972 death of Mohler's sister Carolyn Gilkey from suicide to undetermined. Carolyn was Paul Gilkey's first wife. He later married another sister of hers.

Sheriff's investigators couldn't find evidence to back up Mohler's claim.
