OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — The Oakland Athletics clobbered the Texas Rangers 11-4 this afternoon, leaving the two teams tied for first in the AL West once again. Brandon Moss, Daric Barton and Coco Crisp each hit two-run homers and Josh Donaldson added a three-run drive for Oakland. Jarrod Parker is 11-6 after limiting the Rangers to a pair of runs in six innings.

PHOENIX (AP) — The Arizona Diamondbacks gave their fading postseason hopes a slight boost by rallying from a 3-0 deficit to beat the Toronto Blue Jays 4-3 in 10 innings. Willie Bloomquist ended the game with his third hit of the game, an RBI single that allowed the Diamondbacks to avoid a three-game sweep. The D-Backs currently are 7 ½ games behind Cincinnati for the second NL wild-card berth.

DENVER (AP) — Denver Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey won't play in the opener against Baltimore Thursday night because of a sprained left foot. He hasn't practiced since getting hurt in a preseason game at Seattle on Aug. 17. Denver will start Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie in Bailey's place.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley says quarterback Blaine Gabbert's availability for Sunday's season opener against Kansas City could be undetermined until game day. Gabbert broke his thumb during the Jags' second preseason game and was still limited in practice today. Former Dolphins starter Chad Henne (HEH'-nee) would start if Gabbert can't play.
