Goldman Sachs banker accused of Hamptons rape

A Goldman Sachs executive from Manhattan has been arrested on a rape charge stemming from an encounter at a party at a house he was renting in the Hamptons.

Authorities say police responded to a disturbance at the house Jason Lee, 37, was rending with his wife in East Hampton. Police say several people had gathered at the house Tuesday and that a 20-year-old woman was sexually assaulted there.

Lee posted $20,000, which was delivered bail in cash to court clerks while he waited in a holding cell, The New York Post reported.

Lee's lawyer, Edward Burke, Jr., says his client adamantly denies the allegations. He told the New York Times that Lee is an "investment bank managing director."

"He's very accomplished, and he's never been in trouble with the law," Burke told The Post.

Lee, who has worked for Goldman Sachs since 1998, has been on leave since his arrest, sources told the newspaper.

"His wife and family fully support him. He denies the allegation against him completely and looks forward to defending himself in court," Burke said.
