Evacuations have been lifted for several communities, but remain in place for 110 homes as crews gain the upper hand against a destructive Utah wildfire.

Fire officials on Thursday night also revised down the number of homes lost to the 2,000-acre blaze near Park City to seven, instead of the originally reported 14. A domed tent also burned.

The threat to homes in the communities of Rockport Estates and Rockport Ranches remains in the form of patches of green vegetation that could smolder and flare up in the coming days.

Officials plan to re-evaluate Friday evening whether the remaining evacuated residents can go home. The Rockport Fire is 50 percent contained.

At the height of the blaze, nearly 300 upscale homes were evacuated.
