A 5-year-old boy suffered 'multiple traumas,' including a serious leg injury Wednesday night when he reportedly tried to exit a roller coaster on Coney Island and fell onto the tracks.

MyFoxNY.com reports that the boy crawled under the lap bar on the Sea Serpent kiddie roller coaster at Deno's Wonder Wheel Amusement Park in Brooklyn and tried to get off the ride. He fell in between cars and onto the track, Dennis Vourderis, an official at the amusement park said.

"Our prayers for a speedy recovery are with the young man and his family," Vourderis said. The boy was on the ride with his 7-year-old sister, who was not hurt, the report said.

Crews closed the ride and were inspecting the lap bar and the car the boy fell from, Vourderis said. The ride had been inspected and approved and hadn't had an incident in its 15-year history, he said.
