Authorities say an Ohio trooper gave two teenagers a ride to the scene of a shooting in which they are now being questioned.

The teenagers are charged in two different but fatal shootings that occurred last week before the trooper picked them up.

The Ohio State Patrol says Sgt. Jeffrey Shane has been placed on administrative desk duty during an internal investigation.

Authorities say he did not pat the teenagers down or check them for warrants after he found them walking along a highway ramp.

He dropped them off at a truck stop west of Columbus where a non-fatal shooting happened shortly afterward.
