Police arrest 12-year-old boy after Michigan bank break-in

Police say they arrested a 12-year-old boy after he used his bike to break into a suburban Detroit bank in the middle of the night.

Southfield police spokesman Lt. Nick Loussia tells The Associated Press that the boy broke a window to get inside the bank about 3 a.m. Friday.

Surveillance video reportedly shows the boy stacking rolls of coins and digging through teller drawers, MyFoxDetroit.com reported.

WDIV-TV broadcast video of the child being led out of the Bank of America branch in handcuffs.

Shattered glass was on the ground at the door.

Police reportedly arrived ton the scene to find the boy still inside the branch, MyFoxDetroit.com reported.

He was taken into custody and authorities contacted his mother.

The boy remains at the Southfield police department Friday morning.
