Nineteen members of an elite firefighting Hotshot crew are set to be remembered at a memorial service expected to bring thousands of mourners from across the country.

The men were fighting a wildfire on June 30 in the small mountain town of Yarnell about 80 miles northwest of Phoenix when the blaze overtook them, killing 19 members of the crew. One member who was serving as a lookout survived.

The service is set for Tuesday morning in nearby Prescott Valley and is expected to draw firefighters from around the nation to pay their respects.

Vice President Joe Biden and Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer are set to speak at the memorial.

The blaze had burned about 13 square miles and more than 100 structures before firefighters gained control of it over the weekend.
