Authorities say an early morning fire at a central Pennsylvania home has killed four people, including two children, and left three other residents critically injured.
Fire Chief Timothy Gregg says the fire started in the kitchen of the three-story duplex at about 3 a.m. Thursday. He says investigators believe the cause was overcooked food.
He says the dead are two children, a 65-year-old man and a man in his 40s.
Lancaster Online identified the victim as Jimmie Moore, a Vietnam veteran who owned the home.
"Rest in peace, dad," Cyrena Brock, one of hius daughters, told the paper. “He was a hero to me."
The blaze sent seven people to the hospital. A Lancaster General Hospital official says three patients were transferred to a burn center in critical condition. Another person was in serious condition. Several others were treated and released.
Gregg says several families lived in the home and there were no smoke detectors.
