Sweeping Immigration Reform Getting Closer to Passage?

We could get some key rulings from the Supreme Court today.. Keep an eye out for two rulings on gay marriage by the highest court.

Key U.S. Senators say they are getting close to passing sweeping, bipartisan immigration reform within days. There was apparently secret talks happening. The bil calls for doubling the number of border agents, completing a border fence and grants legal status to some people living in the U.S. illegally. There is, however, strong opposition. Boehner is reportedly having trouble with some of his House members and is asking for Democrats help in the House. Meantime, Senators Inhofe, Vitter and Sessions are holding a news conference with Tea Party leaders this afternoon to express their staunch opposition. Mike Emanuel reporting.

We get weekly jobless numbers today. Yesterday markets took a big hit after Fed Chief Ben Bernanke said the U.S. economy was getting stronger, which could mean to an end to super super low interest rates.

We'll also get new info on the NSA spying leak story when the Senate holds a join hearing "examining the security clearance process." That hearing is live. There is also a closed press briefing this afternoon where NSA's Deputy Director and the Deputy Attorney General are expected to testify. Catherine Herridge reporting.

Secretary of State John Kerry meets with the House Intel Committee this morning on Syria. It's closed press, but we'll stake out the hearing.

President Obama is reportedly set to take action on limiting carbon dioxide emissions from existing power plants.

Lawyers are discussing the possibility of a whole new trial to decide on a sentence for Arias.. convicted of killing her one-time boyfriend.. Travis Alexander. Sopranos' star James Gandolfini is dead at just 51 years old. He collapsed and died while on vacation in Italy. It's believed it was heart attack, but an autopsy will be performed.

The Taliban is reportedly offering a deal.. it says they have U.S. Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl and are willing to exchange him for five senior operatives being held in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Bergdahl disappeared in 2009.
