A Marysville Middle School student was suspended for the rest of the year for pretending to shoot others students with his hands as he walked down school hallways.

The 14-year-old boy's mother, Rondi Lance, told KOMO she agreed the May 31 incident was serious. But she says suspending him for the rest of the year prevents him from finalizing grades.

Assistant School Superintendent Gail Miller said the boy frightened some students as he pretended to shoot and updated his "kill count." She says he has a history of issues at the school.
