NYC man set to be indicted as part of student murder trial in stand-off with police, report says

A stand-off erupted this morning after police tried to arrest a man who is wanted in the murder case of a Pace student who was slain in a luxury Financial District apartment — but he barricaded himself in his apartment with his mother and two children, police sources said.

The NYPD warrant squad went to arrest suspect Jimmy Siders, 31, about 8:45 a.m. in his fourth-floor apartment in the Alfred E. Smith housing development on Madison Street, but he locked himself inside the apartment with three other people, sources said.

His mother is wheelchair-bound, cops said. The children are a boy and a girl, but it was not clear yet how old they are.
Siders was indicted yesterday in the murder trial of Randy Colon, who is accused of slaying Max Moreno — a Pace student and pot dealer who was shot to death in his Gold Street apartment.

Investigators believe Siders may have left the door open after buying pot from Moreno so that Randy Colon and accomplice Raymond Rizzo could enter his apartment.
