A police officer who took part in a raid on a Detroit home says he didn't see anyone struggle with another officer before a 7-year-old girl was fatally shot on a couch.

Shawn Stallard was directly behind Officer Joseph Weekley when they entered the home in search of a murder suspect in 2010. Stallard told jurors Tuesday that he heard a shot but didn't immediately know it had come from Weekley's submachine gun.

Weekley is charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of Aiyana Stanley-Jones. He says he accidentally fired his gun in a struggle with Aiyana's grandmother.

Stallard testified that he saw no one near Weekley when the gun fired.

On Monday, the jury heard from Aiyana's grandmother, Mertilla Jones. She denied grabbing Weekley's gun.
