Authorities in southeastern Georgia say a second man has been arrested in an attack that left a pet pig with 23 stab wounds.

Effingham County Sheriff's spokesman David Ehsanipoor says 52-year-old Clyde McFearin, of Springfield, was arrested Wednesday on charges of aggravated animal cruelty and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

A 23-year-old man accused of unleashing two pit bulls on the pig and stabbing it 23 times was arrested in early April. The pig survived.

Ehsanipoor says investigators determined one of the dogs belonged to McFearin. Police say the pig was targeted in the unprovoked attack after wandering from his owner's mobile home.

The Savannah Morning News reports McFearin has been taken to the Effingham County jail. It's unclear if he has an attorney.
