Two former Navy SEALs killed in the terror attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi will be honored with plaques at a San Diego veteran's memorial Monday.
42-year-old Glen Doherty and 41-year-old Tyrone Woods, both from San Diego, will be remembered in a special ceremony at the Mount Soledad Veterans Memorial, Fox 5 reports.
Both of the men were serving as contractors in Libya when the Consulate was attacked on Sept 11, 2012. They were killed along with two other Americans, U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens and information officer Sean Smith.
“This is going to be a very, very special ceremony,” said Mt. Soledad Veterans Memorial Association CEO Bruce Bailey tells Fox 5. “It will help all of us through the emotions of what has occurred.”
Family members of both men are planning to attend the ceremony.
