Nearly 100 volunteers are set to help two Connecticut veterans and a military widow repair and renovate their homes in Berlin, New Britain and Plainville.
The nonprofit House of Heroes Connecticut organized Saturday's projects.
The group serves military and public safety veterans and their spouses who are disabled, living on a fixed income, or facing other physical or financial challenges.
The Community Foundation of Greater New Britain provides significant funding for the projects.
This weekend's beneficiaries are former Army Spc. Jesse Ede, who served in Iraq and former Marine Lance Cpl. Mario Santos, who served during the Vietnam War. The third beneficiary is Juliet Catucci, the widow of Tom Catucci, an aviation machinist who served in the Navy during World War II.
