ATHENS, Ala. – A man accused of stabbing his cousin to death in a New Year's Eve argument over borrowed action movies near Athens has been formally charged with murder.
The News-Courier reports that 35-year-old Kenny Dewayne Adams was recently indicted on the charge by a Limestone County grand jury.
Adams is accused of stabbing 34-year-old Yancey Metz Foster in the chest with a pocketknife at Foster's mobile home west of Athens.
At the time of the killing, Adams was intent on retrieving two DVDs -- "The Fast and the Furious," and "2 Fast and 2 Furious" -- he had loaned to his cousin. He said a fight ensued when he went to Foster's home to get the movies, Limestone County District Attorney Brian Jones said.
The cousins eventually began fighting and investigators say that while Foster had Adams in a headlock, he reached into his pocket and pulled a knife.
Foster was wounded in the left side of his chest and Adams ran to his mobile home across the road. Foster died on the scene in an ambulance.
It was not immediately known whether Adams has an attorney.
