Two people will serve prison time for their roles in the fatal beating of a 23-year-old man who was trying to hail a cab in Philadelphia.

WPVI-TV reports (http://bit.ly/YalpZC ) that Kenneth Santiago pleaded guilty Friday to involuntary manslaughter in the death of Kevin Kless. Santiago's punishment is two to five years behind bars.

Stephen Ferguson pleaded guilty, also Friday, to third-degree murder. He is to serve five to 10 years in prison.

The attack in January 2012 took place in the city's historic district, not far from the Liberty Bell.

Police say Santiago, Ferguson and a third man attacked Kless, possibly thinking his shouts at a passing taxi were directed at them.

A third defendant, Felix Carrillo, pleaded guilty in January and is serving two to five years in prison.
