A 17-year-old Boston woman charged with stabbing her boyfriend's ex-girlfriend who was pushing a baby stroller along a city street has been ordered held on $50,000 bail.

Samia Jones pleaded not guilty Tuesday to a charge of assault with intent to murder for allegedly stabbing the victim six times with a butcher's knife at about 4 p.m. Monday. The 8-month-old child was unhurt.

If Jones makes bail, she must wear a GPS device under house arrest.

Officials say the father of the victim's child had called and requested a meeting to discuss buying shoes for the baby.

The meeting ended up in an argument.

Police say the victim, in her early 20s, collapsed outside an ice cream shop where customers rushed to help her.

The victim's injuries are not life-threatening.
